Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals - Side survival and side-control escape
The most important thing about side-survival
Surviving before you try to escape. Proper arm, hand and leg position.
What people get wrong the most about side survival
Not having proper hand, arm and leg position. Not having a connection between their body movement and you hand/arm connection.
What to do if someone drops their hip on the arm you have on their hip
The biggest problem is when they smash and follow with an attack. When they drop the hip they are creating a separation between your elbow and knee. Keep the knee close to your body because that will make your opponent uncomfortable and they’ll eventually have to change into a position that is more advantageous to you.
Why not frame the neck always
Depending on how you fall into the position, if you keep the hand on the chest you don’t give them the possibility of attacking the kimura.
