Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals - Back Escape

What do people get wrong the most

Not protecting the neck. Not correlating protecting the neck vs protecting the hooks. Always more important to protect the neck rather than the hooks. Number 1 thing you wanna do is not tap. You need to go back and forth between hooks and neck when you are training.

What the key is to not getting mounted during your escape

Avoid the other leg going over your hip. Block the step over. Keep hip escaping.

If you’re smaller is it a good idea to take the back?

The size difference has to be very significant for a back take not to work.
